6th grade took a field trip to MN Discovery Center. We got a tour and did 3 of the events. We created a canoe and hoped it floated, created our own voyageur canoe crest and wove a voyageur bracelet. These were all connected to our social studies chapter on the fur trade.

Dustin Wolfe – Nominated by Mr. Johnson (not pictured)
Dustin excels at helping others and problem solving in the small engines classroom. Dustin helped lead a project to rebuild two small engines from spare parts around the shop. Dustin exceeds expectations with the quality of their work!
Chrystalee Oakgrove – Nominated by Mr. Lewis
Chrystalee always shows pride in her academic work, and when she has extra time in classes she uses it to complete homework from other classes without being asked.
Makaela Linn – Nominated by Ms. Jen Waryas
Makaela took it upon herself to sit up front in the bus with the littles (prek-4th) when the staff that usually rides the bus was absent. She made sure they were not too loud, stayed seated in their seats, and made sure they were ready to get off when it was their stop. The bus driver and I appreciated her help.

Calling all 5th-12th grade football players! Hibbing High School is hosting the 2nd Annual Robert Tate Football Camp this summer. The camp will be held on Thursday, June 15th and Friday, June 16th at the New Cheever Stadium in Hibbing. This camp is open to athletes from all over the region. Kaylob has done a great job in geometry this year. He always participates in class discussion, is often right, but is also not afraid to be wrong. We also know there are some students who cannot afford the $6.00 cost for the fundraiser. If you are willing to sponsor some of those students for the fundraiser, you can drop your check or cash off in the High School with Mary Jo or Mr. Vake.

Mrs. Williams – Nominated by Gage Schindler
I am nominating Mrs.Williams for Staff of the week because she is so nice and supportive. She is very direct in what we have to do for tech and her attitude is amazing. She always puts a smile on my face when I walk into her room. She’s just awesome and I like her accent.
ENGLISH SCHOLARS
Coeurd’ Alene Dahl– Nominated by Mr. Boehm
Laney is always in class on time; she is prompt to try understanding difficult assignments and is always ready to ask questions when she needs help. I chose Laney as my English Scholar because she comes to class with the intention to learn and not disrupt. Laney also enjoys reading, so she does not need my seal of approval to be an English Scholar! Get it Laney! Congratulations!
Nathan Splinter – Nominated by Mr. Backstrom
Nathan has done a wonderful job this year doing his work and honoring his responsibilities. Thank you for the fun conversations this year!
