SR3 Celebrates the Holidays!
It was a very busy week, pretending to be elves, making a “Wish List”, wrapping presents and doing so many fun activities!

Dig in those closets and get your Christmas Get-Up ready for next week!

Thank you Mr. Freitas and the Chisholm High School Bands for a great concert last night. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication and thank you to the community members who showed up to watch and support our bands.

The Vaughan was honored to have our Indian Education Director Chaz Wagner and his friends put on a mini Pow-Wow for the students. This was a great culmination to National Indian Heritage Month.

Mr. Backstrom (not pictured)– Nominated by Fred Burkhart
Mr. Backstrom is one of the most chill laid back teachers I’ve met and he always knows how to give a helping hand to anyone in need for anything and a great mentor.
Ms. Swalby – Nominated by Isabella Wherland
Ms. Swalby is an amazing drama director. She never fails to make drama a safe space. She pushes people out of their comfort zones to help them learn their lines. Thank you, Ms. Swalby!
Ella Hays – Nominated by Mr. Hancock
Ella is a delight to have in ESports and always has the most interesting stories. She is kind, respectful, and willing to put others before herself. She lights up the room wherever she goes and makes her boisterous presence known to all. Congratulations on this recognition.
Anthony Boho – Nominated by Mr. Schafer
Anthony has been a consistently hard worker thru the first quarter and a half. He works diligently, asks questions, and meets deadlines. Anthony's work is of high quality and he exhibits a geographic way of thinking. Keep up the strong work ethic Anthony!
Tim Lamke – Nominated by Mr. Nelson
I am nominating Tim because of his participation during class in Pre Calculus so far this year. Tim is always an active part of class discussion and asks good questions during work time. He also makes quick connections with the math that is being learned in class. Keep it up, Tim!

Ms. Falcone’s 2nd graders watch the live cam at the San Diego Zoo in California every day during snack. We have become fascinated by the panda bear who “Chows” down while we eat. The class named the panda Chow Chow. We wrote letters to the zoo asking the zookeeper questions about the panda. The letters are headed off in the mail all the way to California hoping for a reply.

Bluestreak Adopt-A-Yearbook is HERE and in its FIRST YEAR!
The Chisholm High School Yearbook Team is offering an adopt-a-student program, a scholarship program for students who cannot purchase a yearbook. Please help us spread the word.
Businesses, organizations, or individuals who would like to participate in the program can donate the base cost of one or more book(s), $75 (this includes taxes) to the school yearbook program, and the money is used to purchase a yearbook for a student in need.
Seniors with special circumstances or hardships are given priority, and then we go down the list by grade level and financial need. We keep this information confidential, and administration helps with the selection process. If you or your organization would like to adopt a student, please contact the yearbook adviser at tvake@chisholm.k12.mn.us or 218-421-8057.
This program is Cash or Check ONLY and online orders will not work.
Thank you so very much for your continued support of our program. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Vake.
Go Bluestreaks!

These 3rd Graders met “Tessa the Turkey” who was active, bold, responsible, honest, polite, and respectful. Check out what they said about their own character traits.

Part 2
We learned some history of the cornucopia, did a ripped paper art
project to create cornucopia placemats, and then created a yummy
cornucopia with Bugles, frosting, and Trix cereal. Happy Thanksgiving!
