Congratulations to our Staff of the Week and Science Scholars from February 1, 2025!
Mrs. Fleming – Nominated by Izy McKenzie
Mrs. Fleming went above and beyond when I really wanted something to happen. She wrote me a letter of recommendation with only days to spare to turn it in. She never complained and made sure it was done by its due date. Thank you, Mrs. Fleming, for going out of your way to do that for me.
Science Scholars
Emma Szweduik – Nominated by Ms. Wopata
Emma is someone who comes to mind as a student who exemplifies what it means to be a good learner. She asks questions, uses her resources, is organized, and always works hard. She also helps those around her to also understand the material. I appreciate her effort, focus during class, and desire to do well!
Evan Pessenda – Nominated by Mrs. Maki
Evan has grown so much as a student. In chemistry he has a drive to truly understand the material by asking questions, finding help videos on his own time, and asking to see his test results. Evan has also been a huge help to his peers, tutoring and helping to explain the information. For these reasons I’m nominating Evan for science scholar.
Delaynee Jensen - Nominated by Mrs. Allen
Delaynee has been a thoughtful science student, sharing answers and ideas confidently. Allowing herself to think through concepts and build skills and understandings as she goes.
Kylie Schow - Nominated by Mrs. Maki
Kylie has always worked hard as a student and this is very evident in chemistry. She often checks in for extra help, works with her peers to assist them, and has a desire to understand the material at a deeper level. She knows what she wants and is willing to put in the work and time to get there. For these reasons I’m nominating Kylie as science scholar.

Congratulations to our first Senior Spotlights of the year! We are so proud of you and your journey!

Students and Staff of the Week at the High School this week:
Mrs. Podlogar – Nominated by Breena Dragony
I am nominating Mrs. Caroline because She is always willing to help with work and keeps me company. She always makes me laugh and seeing her at school makes my day. Thank you, Mrs. Caroline!
Amanda Erickson – Nominated by Mrs. Yuretich
Amanda is hardworking and thoughtful. She uses her time well in geometry class to get work done, and get it done right. When unsure of something, she checks her answers, and asks for help when needed, so that she can thoroughly understand the material. When absent, she always does what is needed upon returning, to make sure she makes up any missing work. In addition to meeting her own responsibilities, she also helps classmates whenever possible. Keep up the good work Amanda!
Evan Rajala – Nominated by Mr. Boehm
Evan has shown an interest in Shakespeare. We are currently watching Hamlet in class, and I appreciate hearing him talk about specific scenes and the language expressed in the movie. Seeing a student have a genuine interest in the overall story is very refreshing. Thank you Evan.
