Mrs. Jensen's 5 & 6 Grade Science Classes had a visit from a CHS Alumni, 2019 Graduate Destiny Koskela. She has an Electrical Engineering Degree from UND and she is currently working as a Consulting Engineer at Ulteig. She shared some activities in field of Substation Design. Destiny worked with students to explain how electricty gets from a Generation Station (Power Plant) to our homes. Destiny explained why we loose power at times, did some activities as they learned more about common circuit compenents and what part insulators and conductors have in process of transfering power.
Students asked her many questions! Destiny shared with the stuents about her job and how she got to where she is working currently and that she really enjoyed math! We discussed the importance of Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Creativity and Curiosity on the job. She shared with Mrs. Jensen how excited she is to see the SMART LAB included with the Science and Math we are doing here. She was especially excited to see the impact it was having on the boys and girls. Destiny is the only female on her team at work. She encouraged the students to follow what they love the most and that with hard work in school and high expectations many opportunities are available. Her student loans were minimal because of scholarships and her PSEO experience! Never give up! Destiny was a former 3rd Grade student in Mrs. Jensen's class!

Teachers at the Chisholm Elementary school presented awards to their students. Each homeroom teacher gave 5 awards in the categories of Wonderful Worker, Friendly Neighbor, and Soaring Towards Success. Thank you to the students for making this a difficult decision for your teachers! :) Wonderful Workers (awarded to students for always trying their best and working hard): Spencer Nelson, Londyn Nelson, Maddie Anderson, Tyler Sertich, Ainsleigh Dahl , Tyler Nelson, Zetta Carlson, Karliina Randa-Sauter, Azalea Schmitz, ,Shira Alegria, Robert Simon, Kalle Caudullo, Breena Dragony, Omar Alegria, Mattilyn Ortiz, and Oceana Smith. Friendly Neighbor (awarded to students for always being kind, caring, and helpful to others): Aubree Olson, Ida Ridlon, Reesa Rock, Arie Thompson, Jaklyn Kruchoski, Benjamin Hanson, Makk Scherfenberg, and Eliese Breed. Soaring Towards Success (students who were recognized for making great strides this year): Owen Dertinger, Navin Vukad, Cordelia Stark, Hattie Klaysmat, AJ Burgau, James Olson, and Nicholas Fosso. One student from each class received the Future President Award which recognizes a student who met one or more of the following criteria: overcame an obstacle and does well academically, is steadfast in efforts, a good role model, values education, demonstrates good character, and/or a natural born leader. The Presidential Award was presented to: Haiden Martin, Francesca Lautizi, Maggie Oberg, Cora Skraba, Vivian Polaske, and McKenzi Anderson. Congratulations to all students!

Ravenous Reader Awards were presented to the CE students who met their AR goal all four quarters of the school year. They are pictured with their classroom teacher. The Ravenous Readers in grades 4, 5 & 6 are: Londyn Nelson, Ben Schultz, Maddie Anderson, Eli Hanegmon, Francesca Lautizi, Aubree Olson, Holly Philbrick, Aubrey Covington, Spencer Nelson, Haiden Martin, Abi Pierzina, Matteo Seline, Tyler Sertich, Cordelia Stark, Tommy Simon, Tyler Nelson, Jaklyn Kruchoski, Cora Skraba, and Ellie Barabe.
Attendance Awards were presented to CE students who had less than 4 absences/tardies this school year. Omar Alegria was recognized for perfect attendance! Other students who received an attendance award were Shira Alegria, Ainsleigh Dahl, Ryder Oman, Tripp Oman, Haiden Martin, Lyla Heise, and Rylie Patterson.
We are having a great end of the school year celebration in Chisholm!

This shout out comes from Mrs. Albert, along with a note to recognize their admirable traits. Elliese Breed: always kind, cares for and is willing to help others; Vivian Polaske: takes initiative, helpful to others, a good friend, and a great student; Carmen Ivanca: always thinks of others, has a positive attitude, and likes to makes others laugh; Jaklyn Kruchoski: always helpful, kind, and a hard worker. Students in grades 4, 5, & 6 played kickball with Mrs. Winter, Mrs. Albert, and Miss Denise yesterday for their Quarter 4 Celebration. These students were recognized for their outstanding sportsmanship during their grade's kickball game and received a certificate for a free ice cream treat at Snickers. Here's a shout out to Xzavier Weber, Kenzie Schow, Isabella Meyer, Ben Schultz, and James Olson for leveling up and going above and beyond!
