Science Technology Engineering Arts Mathematics

This summer Iron Range Summer Institute will be offering summer enrichment classes that will be held in June and July, from 9am until 3pm, Monday thru Friday at nine participating school locations. Classes are designed by licensed school teachers for grades 5 thru 12 and are free for students. These innovative classes are designed to give hands-on learning opportunities for students that may not have that opportunity at their current location. Students are bussed from their school district pick/drop off location to a camp that is running at one of these schools. Lunch and a snack is provided at no cost. Camp space is limited. Registration priority will be given to those registering first. Registration is subject to change.

Iron Range Summer Camps are designed to give students an opportunity to experience a class that is engaging, educational and unique. An example of a hands-on exploratory summer institute camp is Outside Adventures. Each day students will explore a different part of the ecosystem that makes up the school forest: trees and plants; mammals; birds; insects, amphibians, & reptiles, and the watershed. Exploration will be carried out through nature hikes, guest speakers, art-based projects, experiential learning, and more!  Students should expect to be outside and dress for the weather. This camp takes place at the Cherry Town Hall & Tamminen Family School Forest for grades 5-8.

Iron Range Summer Institute Camps give students across nine school districts a chance to take an experience that they otherwise may not be able to receive in their home district. Students in summer camps will meet new students, instructors and take a camp that may not be located in their home district. If you are interested in attending a 2022 summer camp take a look at the brochure and see if a camp will fit your needs. Registration must be completed by May 10, 2022.
