Dear Parents and Community Members:
Wednesday, March 25, 2020, Governor Tim Walz, issued an order that directs schools to implement a distance learning period beginning on March 30, 2020, through April 30, 2020.
The closure will affect all school programming, including before- and after-school activities, all athletic and extracurricular practices and competitions, and all weekend events in the School District of Chisholm.
Beginning Monday March 30, 2020, students will be expected to check in for attendance as instructed by their teachers and to complete lessons and homework as assigned. If you have arranged for homework pick up/drop off for your student(s) the pick up/drop off times will be as follows (if you are not able to pick up/drop off at the times/days listed, contact the school to make different arrangements):
- Vaughan-Steffensrud Elementary, Main Door under the awning, Monday’s 8a-12p
- Chisholm Elementary, Door 1, Monday’s 8a-12p
- Chisholm High School, Main door, Monday’s 7a-12p
If you work in healthcare, law enforcement, as a first responder or are a firefighter and need childcare during the school closure, please contact us by calling or texting 1-314-635-0187, or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, we will need verification of your workplace (ID badge, paystub, verification of employment letter, etc.) and we will provide childcare at the school.
If your child needs breakfast/lunch provided during the school closure email email@example.com, or call or text 1-314-635-0214. Students will be provided a breakfast and a lunch if they have requested meals. If students qualify for free or reduced meals they will receive their meals free or at the reduced rate. If students do not qualify at this time they will be charged the full price of meals. If a student's family may qualify during these changing times they are encouraged to reach out and request a free/reduced application to fill out and return.
If your child does not have internet access while schools are closed they may check out a mobile hotspot by contacting the District office or It Director, Joe Phillips, at extension 2113.
